  • Blair Fleming, head of RBC Capital Markets in the US, has left the firm, according to people familiar with the matter.
  • Fleming was also the head of US investment banking for RBC. He had been with the firm since 1986.

Blair Fleming, head of RBC Capital Markets in the US, has left the firm after more than 30 years, according to people familiar with the matter.

A spokeswoman for RBC declined to comment.

Fleming, who also served as the head of US investment banking at RBC, had worked at the firm since 1986 beginning in London, Ontario. He assumed his current responsibilities in 2009, according to the bank's website.

RBC Capital Markets ranked tenth for US investment banking revenue in the first quarter, according to Dealogic, with $252 million in fees. It ranked ninth in US ECM revenues, meanwhile.

Derek Neldner has been promoted to head of global investment banking as part of the reshuffle, Bloomberg later reported. Fleming has been replaced as head of US investment banking by the firm's cohead of financial sponsors Matthew Stopnik and head of leveraged finance Jim Wolfe, according to that report.
